Hi,

I am interested in making one of my SW project available to an Inventor user. Does anyone know a way to do this, with as much feature preservation as possible?

Thanks,
Sorin

From what I have seen, you will have to export each file. There may be programs that you can search for that will do this for you.
IMO, it's not worth the effort. It may be easier and quicker to have the Inventor user model it from scratch.
I also do not like to mix CAD software.

Chris,
Thanks for the response.
For just one part, how would you do it to preserve most of the features? What would be the intermediate format and the process?

Thanks,
Sorin

Try STEP or IGES. You can preserve the features, but mostly won't be editable. Try each type (save as), and see which works best.

Will give it a shot.
Thanks much Chris.

Does the Inventor user have any sort of "Feature Recognition" function with his version of Inventor?

[cheers]
