I am using NX2 and I am trying to do a sweep along guide but I need some help.I have a closed loop as my section string and also a closed loop as my guide string.I placed my section string in a corner of the guide string and when I do the sweep it has a missing part(corner) just behind the section string. Can someone please explain what am I doing wrong?
Thanks

I would guess intepolation problems, try to set the tolerance to zero. You could also try swept with zero tolerance.

The system would not accept zero as tolerance,so I entered a small value but the sweep remained unchanged.

Try dividing your guide curves into two even halves and do 2 separate sweeps, sewing the results.

Don't put your section string(s) at a corner, put it at a midpoint of one of your guide strings.

My guide is rectangular.
When I placed my section string at a midpoint of the guide strings,no section was created from the section to the corner of the guide string.

If your guide is rectangular (or with corners), when the profile is swept along the guide, you'll end up with a self intersecting profile at the corners. UG doesn't deal well with self intersecting solids, and typically refuses to create them, no matter how much you beg and plead!

Are you sure your section strings are planar? Are they lines/arcs or splines? If lines & arcs, try using very simple splines (less than degree 5).

I seriously doubt if that will make a difference. You'll probably have to resort to using Free Form Feature Swept & use point to point orientation to make sure the corners maintain their shape. Maybe even add additional guide strings.

See UG documentation for the different

Thank you very much for your replies.
Yes,my section strings are planar.
I tried using Free Form Sweep but I am having an error saying "sweep section or guide curves are ambiguous"

Break one of the guide strings in two, move the section string to the breakpoint, and then 'sweep along a guide'. Include both pieces of the broken guidestring.
