I keep getting this error when trying to create a sweep. “Cannot get a point on the path to start with. For an open path, the path must intersect with the section plane.” I cannot figure it out; I have a sketch that I will use as the path. I make a plane “Normal to a curve” and sketch the profile on it. Then, I try to sweep and get his error. Sometimes, if I repeat the process at the other end of the path, it will work. Sometimes not. Any thoughts?

No problem, thanks for looking at it for me.

This was still bugging me today so I was hoping that someone would have an insight as to what is happening. There is a sweep that executes properly that has the same basic issues as this sketch (no pierce point) so it seems like it should work. I moved the sketch plane for the problem sweep to the middle of the path sketch, yet could not get a pierce point (didn't matter if I made the center point and the origin coincident or not). The sweep still would not work either. I'd assume sueflow has moved on but it would be nice to know why this doesn't work... sometimes.

I don’t know, maybe the file is corrupt somehow. I cannot seem to sweep any more. What a pain…
