SWPSs, Standard Welding Procedure Specification?

Hi Anyone,

Already read in ASME IX but don't understand. Looking for some advise about SWPS, What is the code concept ? Is it like a AWS D1.1 Prequalified list?

Are you sure you reviewed the correct section on SWPS in Section IX. Look again in Article V of the 2013 Edition of ASME Section IX. All the information is there.

SWPS - Standard Welding Procedure Specifications, purchased from the American Welding Society. While the SWPS may be listed by Section IX, their use for production may be limited or prohibited by the actual construction code.
