Is there any SolidWorks User in Glass Bottle Manufacturing segment? I have few specific Queries.

You can still ask your qestions. There are a bucket full of long-term folks here who know a whole lot about SolidWorks, whether they teach it or not...

That was the point I was trying to make...

Solidworks is a modeling program...

It does not care what material you are working with...

Glass could be grouped with wood, plastic, and steel as far as it is concerned...

So the questions end up being more general questions than material specific ones...

Glass Bottles are cylindrical parts...

So anyone who deals with cylindrical parts will most likely be able to answer questions...

Glass is also thin, so people who deal with plastics and sheet metal might be able to answer questions about thin features...

Dear Josh and Detroitpickles,

My query is more towards the bottle mold design automation and has nothing specific to do with glass as material. Thats why I wanted to know whether someone is already using in that area.

It would be unusual if your SW questions could not be answered by someone not working in your specfic industry.

Are you using SW or looking for an idea of how it might work for you in your specfic application? SW is an industry generic tool and will handle mold design and automation equipment design.

I could not agree more. There is a vast knowledge base in this forum. I am sure that someone will be able to give some kind of advice on your query, even if the question is in regards to automation and not to a scpeific SolidWorks question. Although there is a lot of SolidWorks knowledge, there is also a great pool of engineering information. My suggestion, fire away, we will do our best to answer any questions you have.

Yes, Solidworks is great for mold/die/cast making...

Many people use it for metals, plastics, and glass...

It has special features & tools that let you design your end product, then generate a mold from the end product so that the design can be perfected...

I have used it many times to make molds for casts...

and dies for Hyrdo-press and Drop Hammers...

I haven't seen a type of industry yet that SW won't work for. I have worked on small electric motors to entire plant layout's and SW has worked for all of it.

If you have a SW question you only need to ask it and I'm sure "TheTick" will have an answer for you. If not someone will.
