Hello,

I am trying to make a solve (CAE NX5) of a plate model. I use the 2D mesh and want to ad a symmetric constraint. When doing the finite element model check I got the following error: Constraint "Symmetric (1)" has no underlying mesh
How do I solve this?

Regards,
Henk

For a plate model, you might need to create your own User-Defined constraint which assigns the proper Degrees of Freedom to the model for a Symmetry Constraint.

I believe that some of the "canned" or pre-made constraint types in NX5 Advanced Simulation only apply to 3D meshes.

For 1D and 2D element types, User-Defined Constraints give you a lot of control over how to model your desired behavior...
