Hello all engineers
In the beam to mid span of column connection (I shape), (T connection: column Vertical (Y axis), Beam Horizontal (Z axis)), that is under cyclic loading, can we use 2 symmetry condition for axis of beam and column? For XSYM it’s clear (vertical cut), but for YSYM (Horizontal cut) because of difference in pressure and tension, is it true?
I mean above of YSYM is in compress, but below is in tension, does software understand it?

Excuse me if my question is a little comic.

Since my point of view there is now symetry in that direction since both Y sides of the horizontal beam are going to move in the same direction, when for example inputing a bending moment at the top of the column.

(If I understood your problem, there is no in fact symetry)

cheers
