Hi all,
Can anybody please shed light on the what is the Canadian code for the design of T bar ceilings. Is there any standard/drawing that I can refer too as its my first time working on the same. Its for commercial building with area less than 2000sq.ft.
Regards

I didn't think anyone ever designed it besides the manufacturer.

And typically my only consideration for it is the 5psf bottom chord loading I put on my trusses and it doesn't weigh anywhere near that.

I would expect the manufacturer's to have installation instructions that dictate hanger spacings etc.

You should check if there are any local/national associations for T-bar ceilings...they would have typical details. Check with suppliers as well.

The only time I saw any design requirement for t-bar ceiling was in a job spec that called for an engineer to design the lateral restraint for a seismic event. The project wasn't located in a seismic area but the specs came from out of town. We didn't end up having to provide the design.
