Tangent edges on swept features

Hello,

Working on NX6.0.5.3

In the attached .prt file you'll see a simple geometry with three features (sweep along a guide, swept, extrude). I'm hoping someone can help me find a way to make the swept feature not show the extra tangent edges (smooth edges). These edges are not shown in the sweep and the extrude and this is ideally what we are after. This isn't much of a problem in modeling, however once in drafting these extra edges appear.

We are limited to the swept function as our actual cross section and path are such that multiple guide curves and variable cross sections are needed, but this example file should show us extra edges that we are trying to avoid.

Thanks for your thoughts,
Ryan

Remove "section 2" from the list of sections. Since your section doesn't vary along the sweep and you are only using 1 guide curve, it isn't needed. This will also eliminate the "extra edges" that you see.

You can also consider this. Under Settings in the Swept dialog, set the Guides option to Degree and tolerance. I would stick with a 3 degree curve, but you can adjust the tolerance accordingly. This will approximate your guide as a single spline and eliminate the extra faces and edges that are from the original set of guide curves. You can edit your swept feature and change these settings with having to re-create your sweep.
