Taper Boring of Fittings

HI All,

Could you please advise me,
which types of metallurgical affects has a taper boring on fittings/flanges (for Carbon and Stainless Steels)?

(For example if we are going to reduce wall thickness up to 10mm?)

I don't understand the question.

Taper boring is a machining issue where if you lubricate the cutting element, there is no impact.

10mm sounds like a lot though. Most flanges have min and max bores which may not accomdate that much.

Look up the flange/fitting standards and see what is the minimum required thickness. Simply put, going below the required thickness is not acceptable unless you want to spend expensive engineering analysis.
