Taper issue

I am using taper, using the edge option. Well I pick my die pull and it fails. When I preview the faces it highlights the face normal to the surface I need tapered. How do you designate the other surface using the taper along and edge option.

I can not use taper the face due to compound angle.

Does the face that you wish to taper have another edge (like across or parallel to the one you're currently picking) that you could choose or is it picking the wrong face on that side as well?

Well, after picking a different draw direction and using 93 deg. as the angle it worked. Strange. Thanks for the quick response.

I've had the same problem before, but I've just had to try everything imaginable to get it to work out right. Would be nice to let the user choose the face(s) to be tapered IF the "intelligence" of what the software is picking for you fails.

I often use taper from edge, if it picks the wrong face I reverse the pull direction and enter a negative value for the taper angle. This will almost always cause it to pick the other possible face. In the cases that this does not work there is usually a deeper problem (extra face that shouldn't be there or something doesn't validate).
