Taper roller bearings loading 2

i want to load the taper roller bearings of gear box.(adjusting the axial float of bearings)
can any body suggest the best method how to adjust the axial float of taper roller bearings.
if there is any special tools,which can make easy & fast adjustment of axial float.
regarding axial float of taper roller bearing:-i got from SKF.

Usually gearboxes require shims for the housing to adjust the preload of tapered roller bearings. Check with the manufacturerer of the gearbox.

As diskullman says, shims are one method of adjusting end play. Timken offers a wide variety of catalog shims.

Other options include:

- ground-to-length spacers for locating the cone on the shaft.

- using a fine-thread nut to locate the cone on the on the shaft. The nut is turned until the bearing preload or end play is as desired, then it is locked with a cotter pin or a tabbed washer.

- using a threaded holder for the cup - same basic idea as the nut described above. Be careful with this approach - it's difficult to accurately radially locate components with threads alone.
