Tasks for PCB test engineer

What day-to-day tasks can a test engineer perform? I am staying busy at work here are some of the responsibilities that came from the original job description Test Engineer will create testing guides on product testing, will monitor and track test fixture yields and capabilities, serech for opportunities for improvement, troubleshoot test fixture, train technician on testing and troubleshooting products. Please provide tasks that will help mold be into being a major contributor.

Well, start with responsibilities in the description...
Potential major contribution area- 'opportunities for improvement' (design for testability, improve product yields, increase test throughput, validations, improve documentation, procedures, create training videos...)
Been doing this for 33 years.

Fixtures have already been designed although working with the designers to make improvements to fixtures is a good idea

Your job description has a bunch of stuff that always needs work

> reliability is never high enough -- are there common failure modes in product returns?
