TeamCenter - More Than One Base File Opened Issue

I have a question about having the same base file in TeamCenter being opened by more than one person. Does the same file being opened by the other person affects my file as I work in it and save it? I am asking this because I have had more than one person having the same part opened. And, when I mate and move parts in place, and save the part, then when I reopen the assembly, they are not mated correctly again. Is it because of the other users working in the same file, and they are not saving the base file?

In Teamcenter, If a file is already opened by someone (Checked out), and if you are trying to open the same file, you will be opening a Read-only file, which means you can not save your changes.

Always be sure you have checked-out any file before you modify it. Multiple users can open the files, but only one can have it checked out. The user who has it checked out is the only one who can make changes and save those changes.
