That's something new for me....
One of the engineers that I work with shown me on a plot paper the difference between an old and a new (updated) file.
How could I overlie two files in Teamcenter Visualization?
What other software, besides Teamcenter could provide this kind of comparison?

Thanks

In NX, you have Model Compare command in Analysis menu. I guess, that this can help you, too.

If your cgm's open through Teamcenter Visualization, you can open one and insert another cgm over it and compare them; any differences will be shown in a different color.
In the cgm window the path is : File -> Insert... -> choose path and file to cgm insert. Actions -> Compare -> Compare layers -> OK will highlight the differences.

Hi Cowski,
You know what? I've heard about that, too!
I’d love to learn this as well!
Is there somebody who know this technique?

You can find information in the NX Help files at...

Home -> CAD -> Drafting -> Tracking your drawing changes -> Track Drawing Changes commands -> Execute Compare Report

That's very nice, Mr. Baker.
It’ll be very nice if you’d explain us how it works!.......
There’s no related documentation for that!

Thanks a lot!

When you're at the Help page indicated above, review the various linked items at the Right-side of the page for more details about how the various steps are done and what's happening. Basically it does the comparison by doing a 'pixel' by 'pixel' comparison of two overlayed CGM files, one from the original Drawing snapshot and one from the current drawing being compared.

This is a very nice feature in NX7.5 You can incoporate this into your change procedures. Siemens I have heard will be improving this function also in the future. We use this track drawing changes all the time. Very nice!

mz7dyj,

As long as your config files are set correctly inside of TCUA then this is relatively easy

See attached image. But essentially it is expanding the Item Revisions that you are interested in and then right clicking and sending to Lifecycle Viewer.

From here you set a markup layer if you add any "manual markups" but by default is shows red/green and black to the differences between the revisions or the things that are the same. Tinker with them for a bit and it will be pretty easy to understand...
