I am wondering if there is any existing database of technical information (primary materials, weight, possibly manufacturing processes) relating to components of military vehicles (specifically ground vehicles). I'm interested in any and all components. Has anyone heard of such a database? If it doesn't exist, perhaps there's a more general (beyond military) database that has such information for non-military systems?

Bonus points if there's cost information as well...

smileysmile,

The US Army TACOM has been instrumental in developing 3-dimensional technical data packages arms (M9, others) and vehicles (FMTV is the most prominent). I am not aware of what may be available in the public domain, however.

This link provides an overview: 3D Technical Data Packages

Good luck with your search.
