Tehran Oil Refinery - Fire moment 5

Well I will retract my former statment and say, he is speaking German.
The three first worlds it's quit clear, I am not good at German refinery terminologi but I am sure.
He is explaining to someone where the different control and monitoring devices are on that second tank which he is pointing at with the mouse pointer.

Second that. I worked on a project with someone from Iran who hit me with this from Marjane Satrapi

That's just what there instruction manuals are in and as there are no local words for the equipment they have taken in the German into the local lingo.

 
Yes I was actually trying to find a manual or a better technical translation site, google translate does not cut it here.

Chinese is even more interesting... they may have 200 different dialects where one person cannot talk to another... but, they have the same written language. I can write a note to Freddie, even if I cannot talk to him.

The Persian thing is a huge political fight in the region it has ramifications I don't really understand. But it also involves clashes between various flavours of Islam and which one has supremacy.

It reminds me to be honest of the subtle nonsense that goes on in Scotland between the Protestants and the Catholics and as an east coaster Aberdonian I don't really understand that, I don't have much chance with Islam either.

Yeah, pretty bad, that; I was around 10 or 11 when I visited my mom at the bank in Chinatown and this old lady came in speaking a dialect that baffled everyone but me, since it was the same dialect my babysitter spoke. And the dialect is from the same province where Cantonese is common:

We did have a Persien technical director not sure it was any different then having a Swedish one.
We have a lot of different people with different nationalities at the factory in most cases it's no different from Swedes.
The only ones I can remember that stood out a bit was actually French, we hade this division manager, he came visiting every month, threatening people that he would sack them, which isn't easy in Sweden if not impossible.
And then this Frenchman in the produktion, he got so angry with me once that his colleagues had to hold him so he wouldn't jump on me.
He hade manipulated the security system with some mechanical contraption, so I toke it away and threw it in the
scrap press.
I told them a hundred times it wasn't ok, they always managed to hide it from me, but not that time.

The majority are Sunni muslims but there is also Christians, Jews, Zoroastrianism, Bahá'ís and Mandeism.
Zoroastrianism was the old state religion.
It's devis is "Good thoughts, good words, good deeds".

I suspect the written language comes from Mandarin... the official language of government, but I don't know. Way back, when I was an engineering student, I had a T-shirt with Viet Cong (in Chinese symbols)... it was a hoot... only reaction was from the Chinese students at the U.

That's the whole daft thing its all the same bloody GOD or big man as us jocks like to call him.

There is an Irish Catholic priest in my local and we have had a few discussions about this stupidity.

I spent my youth a few times in a PIG in NI and like most solders of the period felt like we were piggy in the middle and actually supported a united Ireland. Still do to this day but would never wish those animals in NI on the southern Irish.

Sean has some great dits about when he was in Manchester and shared the chaplaincy in the Cat A prison with an ex UK SAS padre. Who in his first week went in solo with some gang land nutter who was in for life who thought it was a good idea to take him out.... He carried the same bible with blood stains on it for his two years there, and nobody touched him again. Even the prison officers were surprised at the level of violence that was dealt out in such short time period by one man with no broken bones. He did say though to the guy "I have killed more than you and buried more than you and I am not talking about the ones they know about. Lord please forgive me for educating this young man". Any thing kicking off afterwards and he was there, he would just go in solo with his book and everyone calmed down. Sean said he couldn't do it.

LI I agree but if you have ever met the same as us Iranians its pretty horrendous for them. Haven't been there for years but will always remember my time there.

Well the tank was motor welded where it broke, do not know how long ago.
LittleInch you must know what kind of instruments there are on those LPG containers?

Must have been very poor welding, as the force on the wall of a circular tank is small in that direction.
 
I think it was probably lots of corrosion rather than poor welding.

LPG domes like that just have pressure and temperature usually. Level they probably just do by pressure/weight.

They should be designed for a fire case but there may be distribution valves under the tanks which are more exposed.

They may not have considered that a wave of burning liquid would arrive and sit under the tank. Anyway it clearly didn't BLEVE otherwise we would have seen it by now.

Poor welding can lead to corrosion faster then a good weld, much faster.
