I am trying to get 1 field to have the current date appear without having to enter it. I also want another field that will have the date automatically change to the current date when the drawing is opened. I am also looking to have the drawing file location saved on the drawing.

I am pretty new Lisp programming, so if someone can make this as easy as possible it would be great.

Thanks

You could instead use PlotStamp in the plot dialog....

If you like tinkering, instead of using plotstamp, use the RTEXT command and do the following.

Type RTEXT
<Diesel>

Then type the following in the Rtext edit box.

DRAWING FILE NAME and LOCATION - $(getvar, "dwgprefix")$(getvar, "dwgname") - $(edtime,0, MONTH DD"," YYYY-H:MMam/pm)

Click OK to place it on your template.

Be careful with all the parentheses, commas, quotation marks and spelling...one slip and it won't work.

Or copy the above, then right click and paste it in the Rtext edit box....much easier.

Ok thanks,

I will have to play with this when I get some time.
