Tesla's giant 'recall'...

Funny, was just watching a car diagnosis video on youtube (DiagnoseDan). Had a 'Benz hybrid in there that was giving some DTC's. Turns out it has a small (alarm sized) battery that went bad in the console whose sole purpose was to power the parking pawl in the tranny if the main battery failed. Made me start thinking if a modern car does not have a physical cable to the parking pawl in the transmission and it also has an electric parking brake, what does happen if the battery fails before the parking brake is engaged? Does it roll away? I don't know if any other manufacturer that has a backup battery like this Benz did.

My sister in law has got one this year the prices have plummeted.

She charges it off my solar.

It's very hard to manage it in a poor infrastructure for every country.

Took her 2 days to charge it off the solar and a granny charger.

Quite looking forward to get my hands on it to have a play. She is basically clueless with it.
