Hi all,

Kindly advise what is the test weight factor (not design impact factor) for davit arm of flange cover of heat exchanger or 24" manway (FPSO project) and what is the basis (induatry standards, ABS rule...)?

Thanks.

You should find this in the lifting device design code used to design the davit.

@ KevinNS, The davit design as per pressure Vessel Design Manual, 4th Ed, Moss, which does not mention the test requiremnt for the davit arm

The impact coefficient is 2.
Load test: lift the blind flange as much as possible (4 or 5mm) and release it suddenly.
