Hello

Any tips to prevent potential water leak to Air circuit in TEWAC (Totally Enclosed Water Air Cooler) Turbine Generator?

Having only one leak detector in the heat exchanger is reliable?

Thanks in advance !

Depends on how the two circuits (water and air) are constructed. Typical is to have a "drip tray" of some sort that catches H2O that might escape from water side - including condensation on the tube exterior. The tray is sloped to a collection point where the detector is located.

This type of design - with the single detector approach - has been in industrial usage since at least the early 1900s.

Kash To be fair, it IS a single point of failure. However, the general reliability of the method (drip tray plus drain) and device (liquid or pressure sensor) negates having to do more for very little improvement.

To be honest, I've only ever come across one machine (in 40 years) that had two detectors. That was because the machine was large enough to have two discrete cooling "sectors" which did not exchange either the secondary coolant (glycol) or the primary internal coolant (air). Each drained to its own detector.
