This should be a simple thing to change, but I have tried "Help" on AutoCAD several times with no results.

When I click on text and edit it with the Text Editor box, the text as displayed in the box is larger than what I would like to see it. So, I have to scroll back and forth to see all of the text. How do I set the size of the text displayed here?

The text size in the drawing is fine, all the icons and miscellaneous text on the screen and in other programs are fine, it's just this one box that shows huge text.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Nope, doesn't do anything. This is AutoCAD 2002, if that helps.

with single line text you should not be able to scroll so you must be using multiline text. altho I am currently using 2004, I have used 2002 for about a year and a half and I dont ever recall having the problem that you described. I dont recall how the text editor worked on 2002 but w/ 2004, I cam make my editing box wider and longer so as not to scroll.

Yes, it is multiline text. I can resize that box a little bit, but on a standard size monitor it will show the text as maybe a 1/2" high or something. So a paragraph like this would be two screens wide if I go to edit it. Grrrrr.

I'm not sure if this applies to 2002, but the text size in the editor is the same size it was on the screen before you edited it.

In other words, try zooming the drawing out a little before double clicking the text. It should be smaller.

This is definately the case in 2004/2005.

It's definitely not like that. The text in the box is always the same size, even if the on-screen text is very small.

I would think that somewhere there is a setting or a default size for this text, just never have been able to find it!

You can change the default editor window size in the registry, but the text itself does not seem to be available.

Evidently MTEXTFIXED is a 2004 addition- I can't set it or find any mention of it Help.

I was reading a bit more in Help. It says the Mtext editor can only display true-type fonts, not SHX fonts. That may be part of the problem, that it substitutes a true-type font for my font, only the one it substitutes is for some reason much larger.
