Can somebody help? I am trying to show a drawing view of an assembly that includes a sheet of expanded metal mesh. I represented the mesh with a SW standard texture that I placed on the two surfaces of the sheet metal part in the model. How can I show the texture in my detailed drawing views. If i shade the view, there is no texture shown.

Thanks,

Chevelle Mike

This is not per drafting standards.
If needed other than production drawing, you can save the part as .jpg and insert it as an object on the dwg.

Thanks Scott. From your message, I am assuming that you can do it in SW06. It seems like it would only make sense that you could show the texture in the drawing if they bothered to put it in the modeling functionality.

I guess I will just cross hatch the area and callout the material with a note.

Ooh....that would be sweet. I use a lot of grip strut and expanded metal in my stuff. I definitely do it the hard way...

Kind of along the same lines, don't think it's possible though. Is there any way to project an open 'construction' line sketch onto a a curve for the purposes of texturizing my drawing to look like mesh. Or any other techniques would be helpful.

Because it's on a combination projected curve / offset surface. That's why i was wondering if there was any other techniques.

Draw a sketch, then hatch. Make sure it is part of the view.
