I was trying to simulate a wear problem and I got the following error message:
The adaptive mesh region contains zero elements. Please ensure that valid element types compatible with the adaptive mesh feature was selected.
The application of adaptive mesh constraints requires the definition of an adaptive mesh domain.
Analysis Input File Processor exited with an error.

The attached image shows my mesh. I had selected the rectangular area for the region as ALE adaptive domain and the top surface (top line) of the rectangular surface as a region of ALE adaptive mesh constraint.
I request your help to solve this issue

Which element type do you use ? Make sure that all nodes selected for adaptive mesh constraint belong to adaptive mesh domain.

First order plane stress/strain quads (CPS4 and CPE4) are available for adaptive meshing in Standard. If you use these elements then the error is most likely caused by invalid definition of adaptive mesh domain.
