Hi

I have an assembly with a component that consist of a sketch only (I added a sketch part as a component)
and I created a none-master drawing from this assembly

now I added a view and that sketch component is shown as extracted curves
(when cursor hover on it its show 'extracted curves')
and when I blank the component the 'extracted curves' do not blank.

Is there a setting to change this.

Thank you in advanced.

Thank you for the response

Yes its on.
what its meaning and what option is recomanded.

This option extracts the edges of the components as curves in the drafting view; this can be used to view the drawing without opening the components. This can greatly reduce the memory requirements when only viewing or doing "drawing only" type changes.

Apparently, this setting also extracts sketch curves in the same way.

The "recommended" setting depends on the size of the files that you work with and your desired workflow. If/when you start using the newer "exact" view type, it is no longer a choice.

Thank you very much.

What you mean in using the newer "exact" view type

NX 8.5 introduced new drafting view types, one of which is called "exact". The representation used in previous versions is now called "exact (pre-NX 8.5)". If/when you use the "exact" view type, you no longer have the option to turn on/off the "extracted edges" option.

Thank you for all this.

What are the steps to use this "exact" view type.

When you start a new file, NX may use the new view representation as the default. If it does not (and you would like to use it), there is a customer default option (drafting -> view -> general -> representation) or you can change it when placing the view: in the base view command, go to settings -> view style -> general -> representation.
