: ASME 9 , table QW-453 and QW-217

Background: cladding Pipe with thickness of CS is 15.88 mm and thickness of SS clad (316L) is 6 mm, tests as per ASME 9 for PQR has been done , welding in the PQR done by two process, first GATW with thickness 6 mm with three passes root pass , hot pass , and first pass of filling ( only cladding thickness =6mm ) . Second process is SMAW with thickness 15.88 .

1- Question: is the GTAW process qualified in the WPS to weld in the CS base metal , however no single pass has been done in the PQR by GTAW as per the PQR ?

2- Question is the minimum thickness of cladding can be weld by the WPS 6 mm ? based on table QW-453 ?

3- Question is the range of the CS base metal will be from table QW-451.1. and the cladding thickness range as per QW-453
