Thermal Conductance

I am reading a relatively old paper that makes reference to "thermal conductance", h, with units W/m^2K. From what I can tell, this paper uses the term "thermal conductance" instead of "convection coefficient," which is more familiar to me. Is anyone familar with the term "thermal conductance," and, if so, is it a synonym for "convection coefficient" or something different entirely?

Thermal conductivity is usually applied to solid materials, and is usually expressed as W/m-K, similar to electrical resistivity.

However, for materials with a given thickness, then the areal thermal conductance would be expressed in W/m^2-K.

Only when the area and thickness is known, would the term thermal conductance be used and expressed as W/K.
