Is there a difference in thermal expansion coefficient between Stainless and Carbon steel?

There is a significant difference in thermal expansion between ferritic and austentic stainless steel.

Yes - there is a diff.

My readily available table shows Mild steel at 6.5-e4 and SS at 9.9.-e4.
