Wasn't sure which forum to post this in, as I could see almost all engineering disciplines using a Thermal Imager. Hopefully it will reach as many eyes as possible here.
I'm looking for a good handheld Thermal Imaging Camera, preferably in the sub-$1000 range that does NOT have WiFi, Bluetooth, or other wireless communication capabilities? Also probably best to have one that can NOT record video. Preferably at least 160 x 120 pixels, and the IR/visible image overlay feature would be ideal too (as long as it works well; I’ve seen some video reviews saying that IR/visible overlay image is not aligned correctly).
I’d prefer a FLIR of course, but all the FLIRs I see in my price range have Wifi or Bluetooth (with the exception of the non-Wifi C3-X which only has a 128 x 96 sensor). We work in a secure area that does not allow any devices capable of wireless communication.
Does anyone have experience with Reed or Uni-T TICs?
The Reed R2165 and Uni-T UTi720A and UTi720E look like they could be good options, but I'm not very familiar with either of those manufacturers. Not that they're bad, just haven't heard of them until I started this search, and can't find a whole lot of unbiased info on them outside of the specs and retail sale pages.
