Anyone familiar with the installation of thermocouples in mass concrete to measure temperatures of the core and the edge? Any recommendations for data loggers for this operation?

I have no experience in the area but have you tried ACI 207, which deals with mass placement? They might have something.

the earlier thread on this is thread507-202878. This is fairly strightforward job. The thermocouples are cast in and a data logger used to record the temperature over the required time period. But sorry cannot recall the manufacturer of the instrument

Thanks, Zambo and bridgebuster...

I picked up a couple of the data loggers for measuring the temperature of the enclosure and they work incredibly well. I need to determine the temperature of the mass within and thermocouples along with a logger seemed to be the way to go...

Dik,
I too have a job where 1.5m reinforced concrete raft to be done. I've been searching this for some time. Can you please forward me what you found and that would be very helpful?

These pours are about 2.5m x 12m x 10m with 35MPa concrete (I didn't design them, so don't know the reason for the higher strength (might be durability). The mix uses about 25% ash and has a 4" (90+/-30) slump. I have a couple of files (*.pdf), one a report and the other some info on thermocouples. Check my forum lists for my interests.
