Has anybody had any experience with Thickness Checker in the Utilities Module? I/We don't have professional and was wondering if this feature is worth wild.

Worth wild? I don't know if it's worth wild, but it may be worth while.......

Disclaimer: mmakm and I used to work together and I routinely busted his chops because he can't spell worth a crap. I'm just doing it publicly here!!!!! Quite frankly, I'm hurt that he didn't just ask me directly.

I've used the thickness checker upon occasion - it's OK but not great. The output you get is similar to a stress plot from an FEA run. You can mouse over areas of the part to get a local thickness displayed on screen. I've not used it enough to really know how accurate it is, although there is an option to do local thickness analysis on selected faces.

I wouldn't upgrade your licenses just for access to the utilities - I more often than not don't have the add-in turned on.

What can I say dgowans...I'm a mechanical engineer, not an english major. I guess now I know where to send my parts for free analysis.

If we couldn't bust each others b..(Well you know) once in a while. It wouldn't be any fun.
