thread237-359153

Hi to everyone,
first of all I am not expert on rewinding and I dont undestand all tehnical terms. My father has a small company that rewind electric motors.
we can acrose a crane 3phase motor with 3 speeds. My father has revind couple of crane motor and he tought this is a clasical Dahlander motor ( 3000/1500 rpm) and another set of coils for 750RPM, so he did not pay that much atenction to connections. he found out that widings have span 1-8-10-12. we also found different coil with 1-8 span ( have to double check)
later he found the attached conexion and from this point the motor became "unreadable" :)
can you help me to undestand this winding? what type of winding is this, where i can find more info?

Hi, thank you for undestanding and teaching me to use forum :)
forgot to say that the motor is 36 slot stator....

With 36 slots, either the coil spans or the speeds are wrong.

With multi-speed windings, the existing winding details have to be correctly noted down before stripping it. Your posted picture could mean any number of things.

Hi,
The pitch 1-8,10,12 is correct (1-12,2-11,3-10).
In your case I guess it is 4/2 pole winding in special constant HP connection with additional winding that is energized only at one speed in order to get more power .
This kind of special connection could be realized in some different ways and it is hard to guess when there is no any info on winding.
This sort of questions should start with nameplate photo, at least.
Here is one from plenty similar cases:
