I designed reinforcements using FEA for 8 tanks of 3000 m3 (H=14m) with dramatically reduced thickness due to corrosion and abrasion, since they have been in operation for almost 25 years (from 1998). Does anyone know if there is any norm or standard api that allows to include reinforcement?.
I know the North American and European codes for tanks design very well, and that is why I allow myself to ask this question, in case there is someone who knows of another code that includes this type of reinforcement, since the theory does not exist in the codes that allow vertical and circumferential reinforcement.
My responsibility was to ensure the lives of the people and the Operation that prevented the collapse of the equipment (and it was fulfilled).
Please if anyone has any relevant technical information I would appreciate if you could share it.
