thread794-439534

Greetings to everyone

I have come across in very strange situation

I have reverse flange which was designed for grooved metal gasket having m & y value

Now I am looking to qualify this flange for diaphragm gasket which is having m=0 & y =0

I was thinking that my flange thickness will decreasing by changing m & y equal to zero

But my flange thk is increasing

Please guide me how to come out from this situation

Thanks in advance

Jagmtr, not much to go on there... (No, I am not asking you to post your calculations)

I'd assume something(s) in addition to m and y values has changed. I'd expect you'd need to carefully compare the two sets of calculations to identify and determine the effects.

Regards,

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

Thanks sntman

I followed your suggestion.

Pitch circle diameter, large hub thk & gasket od could reduce flange thk

I choose to increase gasket od & now problem resolved
