Hi

I have installed three phase regulators after a transformer.Do I need some sort of station service to operate the regulators. In the drawings, I have show a 50 KVA padmount. I understand that a recloser would require a 50 KVA padmount to operate the D.C controls to open and close the recloser. Does a regulators need some kind of station service padmount as well. Your commens are highly appreciated.

Thanks

Timmy

Many can take a 120VAC separate source. Others have internal VT's for sensing and power for the drive unit.
What are the details (Manufacturer, Model, etc).

IIRC, in the USA, both Cooper and Siemens can take either, but ALWAYS check the manual first. Try to read back from the motor drive units to terminal blocks in the control cabinet. It should be identified somewhere, as well as being mentioned in general in the manual.

Definitely check the manual as smallgreek says, but I have yet to see a regulator that doesn't provide it's own internal power source.
