Good morning, we are designing a pressure vessel and at one point we have three weld seams that coincide. Does anyone know if there are limitations in the codes (no matter ASME or EN) to this?

We've built many spherical heads for ASME pressure vessels where 3 welds come together in a Y shape.

If that's not the configuration you're talking about, perhaps a sketch would help.

You would rather avoid that situation if possible, not least from the constructability and inspectability perspectives.

See Sec VIII, Div 1, UW-9(d), if applicable, for long seam separation.

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

If this happens to you in design it means that you are working poorly. Change the design instead of looking for help elsewhere.
