Tiger Ring Main Unit

I am trying to find out what manufacturer/type of fuses were used in the Tiger ring main units (11kV). I am doing a protection coordination where I have come across one (90A).

I think they can be either B.S. G.E.C. or Brush?
Try contacting the 11kV network design dept of your local electricity company if you are UK based. The Tiger FRMU is still used in many areas

Hi Redwing its me again
I've dug up the following info which may help solve your problem
We used 90A Fuses ESI REF IIOIL10 in FRUM'S on 100KVA TX'S. Manufacture ref as follows
B.S.= OQGRN 90A G.E.C = KEMXO 90A & Brush OHGMA 90A
The max size LV fuse we would fit to discriminate was 600A
The HV fuse links were to ESI Standard 12-8

I would be a bit wary of a 90A fuse on a 5.2A (100kVA at 11kV, 3-phase) rated transformer - especially as a 90A fuse is in all probability a back-up fuse rather than full range. All you will ever cover is a dead short on the transformer terminals - anything to deep in the transformer would risk the fuse behaving as spectacularly as the transformer when it develops a winding fault.
