I am on the hunt for a more sustainable profiling system. The timber ones we have just used HAve all been skipped and it seems like a complete waste of timber. Ok it will be recycled but surely there is a reusable product out there.
I am referring to the timber T-shaped profiles used i drainage and road construction in UK (I don't think this system is used anywhere else in the world???)

CAN ANYBODY HELP

Could you make it from two pieces?? - basically two rectangular sections glued, nailed or screwed together.

Try GPS machine control, from Topcon or Trimble for the roads stuff, costs abit to start off, but saves a forest of timber

Cheers,
Chris

Granted GPS systems are faster and reducing in cost but I am afraid are not cost affective on the majority of road and drainage projects.Meantime I have discovered an alternative called the cross-bone have you come across this system?

Did you buy the timber for the profile boards? On the sites I worked on they commonly used the left overs from shutter fabrication. So that is pretty sustainable.

My firm has used GPS systems on our last 5 major roads (ca 100km) schemes, and they are very cost effective, ruling out several setting out teams, and reducing the standing time due to damaged/lost/missing setting out to almost zero.

Cheers,
Chris
