hi, I work with medium size assembly (3000 parts) and I believe there is something to do to speed up things.
what is exactly simplified representations? can I use it only in master assembly? can I still make change to simpify represented parts?
Is there something I can do to speed work??

By the way my pc have a processor intel 4 3.2Ghz whit 3GB ram. and I´m running on windows xp pro

thanks

hai Jbim ;-)
have you already set the /3GB switch in Windows Boot.ini?
you can create the reps by customising your defaults.
they are lightweight do not consum so much memory like the entire part.
they can be updated on part save.

thanks, uwam2ie ,
Can you explain how do I set 3GB switch in windows boot.ini?
thanks

Modify the OS line:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect /3GB /USERVA=2900

The /USERVA will actually decrease the /3GB switch by allowing applications to only get 2.9GB of the memory. XP needs the extra memory to run.

Read Microsoft TechNet docs for proper operation. We know there is a special patch required IF you have 4GB memory and 2 HDD's. Without the patch you get a BSoD on bootup. I know because our techs forget the patch and the switch on my new Dell 390. I did the boot.ini change and that was it. The techs had to modify the master image and then re-image my HD.

Actually I was thinking on change my machine to a dell 390 too so I believe i´ll need the patch too.

thanks a lot

It is not an automatic update patch, it has to be requested. I don't know the name or number.
