Hello,

I'm trying to build a titleblock for all of my drawings without using VB.

I tried to use "Insert Link Template" from the contextual menu in drafting (checked the online help), save it in catalog, but then, when I try to instanciate it from the catalog, it gives me the following message: "Instanciation not provided on this kind of object"

Anyone knows why?
Anyone knows other way to link text in drafting (titleblock) to part properties?

Thanks,

Rjl

Discovered why error message was showing, I should use "Text template placement" icon and not the "catalog" icon.

Anyway, anyone knows a way to fill titleblock with part parameters without VB? I mean making a kind of template, to use in a lot of drawings.

Thanks.

Another way is to create a 2D Ditto (2D instance/component) in a 2D catalog. Just make your drawing template, save what you want in detail sheet and then save as your CATDrawing like a catalog.

Fill your title block with insert from catalog...then modify what you need...

So, if I understood, for each drawing I should fill the title block manualy?

What I'd like to make is, getting part parameters from the 3D to fill the title block. And these parameters should be user created, like for example: material, dimensions...

And I'd like to make this for a lot of drawings, without needing to recreate the links with the 3D for each drawing.

Is there a way without VB?

Thanks,

Rjl
