Hello everyone,

I want to change title of legends in abaqus and add some informations to results (unit, scale factor...) for example HFL become ' heat flux in W/mm²' how can I do this ?

No I mean changes in the legendes for example title or add of units, Thank you I found houw I can get this;'creat field output from field' and like this you can change name of picture and put what you want !

I don't think that you can. As far as I know you can only change the properties of the legend (i.e. number format, font,...) but not the actual text.

@ DanStro,

You can change the name of the legend for example NT11 become temperature and HFL become heat flux adding unit beside the title and that will be more understandable to manager or someone who don't know abaqus, we can also change scale of numbers from exponential to normal figure you know that we have to show good and expressive pictures to our bosses in order that they understand !!

That's interesting. How do you change those?

In visualization you click tools and create field output from field, you choose the field output that you want and you write the name you can add beside the name the unit to be more understandable, after that to have access to field output that you have created, you click on Results and field output, you click on step and you choose Session step then you will find the output with the name that you have chosen just you click on it you will have what you want.from numbers you click on viewport where you can make changes to your legend and put fix decimal instead of scientific ant like that you will have normal figure and not exponential diction.

Thanks stmba, that's a good work-around.

Not the best method, but in the past I've just printed the image to file and then opened it into PaintShop and changed or added whatever labels I needed. Abaqus is ok for adding labels, but can be tedious when doing multiple images and having to edit all the annotations.

corus,

I think that you didn't understand how we can change titles of legends, even if you have multiple images the purpose is changing the name of your outputs and add some information in odrer to improve clearness.

The problem with creating session steps is that you can lose the displaced shape, for example, and so only see stresses plotted on an undeformed shape. In addition, if you have many plots to make, then creating session steps just to modify a name on the legend seems a little inconvenient. For clearness I prefer to add text to final images in paintshop and change legend titles there too, but suit yourself.

ok I understand you now, it work when we have thermal analysis or coupled thermal electrical analysis,it's true as you said we can lose the displaced shape on stress analysis with this method.
