You can't....

If you need to get into SW2006 you will have to do a Save As to a step, iges or parasolid file. However, when you open in SW2006 you will have a dumb solid with not feature tree history.

All the major 3D CAD systems are not backwards compatible.

This question gets asked weekly on this and every other SW forum on the internet. Be sure to search first or check the FAQ's here for your questions.

Anna, AutoCAD can "save as" back to older versions.
But I don't consider it as a "major 3D CAD system". ;)

Yeee AutoCAD 2D CAD medieval drafting. Definately not one of the major 3D CAD systems.

I say that with the first 10 years or so of my career having done stone-age manual board drafting.... :-0

What, Anna, you have been around since the stone-age?

Yes, some days it feels like it. Yeeoo

Anna,
If you've been around since the stone-age, shouldn't that "Yeeoo be "Yabbadabbadoo" ?

Next time you see Wilma and Betty, tell them I say Hi.
