I have been trying to utilize tolerancing with Inventor version 6, but I am finding it is somewhat lacking. I can tolerance my sketch dimensions in the XY, but when I go to extrude I am not allowed to tolerance the extrude dimension. Also, If I use the hole tool to create a through hole, I can't apply tolerances to the holes. Can you tolerance extrusion depth and holes via the hole tool? Or is it best to just create your holes via the sketch tools, and forget about extrusion (z) tolerances.

steven (stephen?) is right, you can do it that way. the other way to access the tolerances of those dimensions is to double a click on the feature once you've created it, which shows all the dim's on the screen like sketch dims. you can then right click any of these and select dimension properties...

G'day Steve...

I'm in Melbourne... I'm Colin, that used to work at Envision. I think we met when I came up there with the rest of the Envision crew mid-last year?

I was the young fella.

Cheers,
Col.
