Hello,
I am doing cyclic loading analysis on the wall. There are too many contacts in my model. I am doing dynamic implicit - quasi static analysis, but I get the error "Too many attempts made for this increment" or Att always progresses as 1U 2U and the analysis stops. I suggested Step-Other - General Solution control IA=30 on the internet for this, but it still didn't work. I gave the amplitude of the load as 0-0.1-0.2.....1, but it still didn't work. My material is elastic now. Actually, I will use the Concrete damage plasticity model. How can I do it. Do you have any suggestions?

It’s a very generic non-convergence error. There can be many different causes but it’s usually due to contact. If the analysis diverges right from the start then there are likely some rigid body motions. You can try enabling contact stabilization (or stabilization in the step settings), using displacement control, adding friction and so on. Solution controls shouldn’t really be changed in such cases.

Thank you for your answer. The only contact I can change in my model is the tie contact. I define a beam on the wall. When I give side load (as a rigid body), the beam should not be separated by the three stones below and should move together. I assigned a contact to the tie. With what other interaction can I give the same effect?

Is it tie, contact or tied contact because those are 3 different types of interactions ? Can you share the file or at least some screenshots where all the interactions and constraints are well visible (highlighted) ?

I have a wall model and I need to apply cyclic load from the upper beam. The upper beam is defined as a rigid body and there are iron bars between the stones. Welding is achieved with molten metal between iron and stone. I defined a tie constraint between stone and iron. My analysis starts and progresses a little, then it gives the error "Too many attempts made for this increment".
I choose Dynamic implicit-quasi-statci for analysis.

Thank you.

Are those bars intersecting the bricks or just filling the gaps between them ? Try running a frequency analysis, it will show you if something is disconnected.

Horizontal bars connect the stones to each other with hooks at both ends. It connects the upper and lower stones vertically. In other words, there are gaps in the stones and iron gets into those gaps. Worked on frequency analysis now. Could it be related to the features of my computer?

Thank you
