Too much time to turn on and off catia. Why?

Hi to everybody,

i'm practicing with catia v5, on win xp with 512 ram, amilod 7800 notebook. It worked well for many months but now i have to wait up to 5 min for catia v5 to turn on and up to 30 min sometimes for it to turn off. What is going on?.
I'm sure there must be some problem in the settings but i have no idea what to do.

Did you install service pack 1 for Windows XP?
There seems to be a bug in the service pack which can cause a decrease in system performance.

It helps deleting the CATEnv and CATSettings folders on your local user. But when you do this you have to make all your customization in Tools/options once again.....
