Are you sure they didn't confuse the "Peoples Choice Awards" for "greatest genius"?

And what defines a "greatest" genius anyway? Ha!

Creators Synectics, a global consultants firm, chose their geniuses by awarding scores out of 10 to each entrant against a number of factors: paradigm shifting; popular acclaim; intellectual power; achievement and cultural importance.

According to their defintion being a genius isn't being "IQ smart" as the measure; its a popularity and success vote. I was wondering how I didnt make the list ;-)

They include JK Rowling - Author of Harry potter. As soon as I saw that I lost interest.

She is good at what she does, but a genius? - definately not. I can think of a dozen authors in the scifi/fantasy genre that run rings around her.

Note the high number of british and American names on the list - definately written by a british/American team.

I've noticed these types of lists have been getting more and more ridiculous with each passing year. Look at this year's Nobel Peace Prize recipient.

Although there are alot of good ones on there, the problem is that the collected this list by polling people who clearly didnt even look at the definition of geniuses!

I saw Matt Groenig on there. I knew he was a genious. How else could he keep coming up with so many seasons of the Simpsons without any character development. I mean really, shouldn't Maggie be talking by now? Shouldn't Lisa be in college? Shouldn't Bart be working in demolition, swinging that ball around on a crane?
