Hello;

I need help, i'm trying to apply a torque to a rigid body (surface 2D in a 3D analisys) in a contact analisys. I define two control nodes. In the first node i constrain the displacent (DOF's 1,2 and 3) and in the second node i apply a moment and i define an axis of rotation. But.......... the solution is no displacement and no stress... nothing!. I've done everything but i don't find how can i simulate a torque (in an axis) in a rigid body.

Thank you.

Hello;

I've tried to apply two seperated equal forces to simulate a torque.

I'm modeling a connecting rod, i'm trying to simulate a torque at one end (at the piston). I've defined two contact bodies (deformables): the connecting rod and the shaft. The connecting rod is fixed and the body that simulates the shaft is a cilynder fixed (in one node) at all displacement and all rotations except 1 (DOF i). Then I apply two forces at the ends (equal and oppsited) of the cilynder to simulate the torque in DOF i.

The result is 10^-26 order displacements.

I'm using tet4 element (may be?).

I need help!!

Thanks.
