Hi!
Please is anyone tell me how to compute the total charge of propane used as coolant in refrigeration loop of a LPG plant?
Thanks!

Is to estimate an initial charge or for some sort of propane inventory process?

Add up the liquid volumes that you have in the system. That would include accumulators, piping in liquid service, chillers, etc. You can take a look at the vapor side, I doubt it's significant because of the density difference between liquid and vapor but it's worth a quick look to see if you want to spend some time quantifying the vapor load.

Hi TD2K!
Thanks for your reply but can you explain to me what do you mean by (What is the function of both of them) :
estimate an initial charge ???
sort of propane inventory process???
Is there a difference between them?

Greetings!

It's likely more semantics than anything else. Both are intended to estimate how many lbs or kgs of propane are in your system. Are you asking for something else?
