TOWER CRANE FOUNDATION DESIGN

Hello everyone,
I am designing the foundation for an old potain 430 tower crane. Unfortunately the manufacturer information supplied does not contain the moment at the base to be designed for. Does any one have any ideas on how i can estimate this moment.

I wouldn't do it as the exposure to liability is too high. If the supplier doesn't provide the loads I don't design the foundation.

While the rental company or certainly the manufacturer had best be able to provide the data you need, perhaps there is an issue with your form of communication. I've not recently had to send a letter by mail for info, but its not unheard of.

That said, give these guys a call. Yes, you are effectively a competitor, but they may be willing to share info or a contact.

I second DTGT2002. Mr. Posch has designed several crane and hoist foundations for our company and is a great source of information.
