What could cause a sudden trace failure with no change to the cut conditions and an HS calibration failure, as well? I've removed the ECO head, checked the Z-sensor wire, cleaned the head and cone and I'm completely stumped. Any help will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

And no, the "trace off" option has not been used.

Do you have the NT control? Are you turning on "trace off" when doing the calibration? (this button should be illuminated before you do the calibration. When calibration is complete it will automatically turn off).

Do you have another cone (most people call this the head) that you can try?

Thanks for the replies. Itried everything, but it turns out the internal Z-sensor wire was bad (no alarm message came up). I didn't have a replacement so I just attached an external wire and went on with business as usual. The new wire came in today. Thanks for the ideas.
